More funding available for community energy in the South West

We are delighted to announce that Window Two of the Great British Energy Community Fund (GBECF) is now open for applications in the region. 

The funding is to help communities take the first step to develop projects that generate clean energy, which local people can benefit from.

A range of different organisation are eligible to apply for the fund including town and parish councils, community organisations, sports teams, charities and faith groups.

In March this year, the Government announced a total of £5m of funding nationally for the GBECF – previously known as the Community Energy Fund (CEF) – with £1m allocated for projects from the South West to be managed by the Hub. 

Applications to Window One of the fund are in the final stages of assessment and approval and successful projects will be announced this autumn.

The Window Two GBECF application window closes at midday on Monday 3 November 2025.
