The South West Net Zero Hub is hosting a special event in Bristol next month to celebrate community action on climate change and nature loss – and how it can improve lives.
Each of the five Local Net Zero Hubs across England will host an Energising Britain event in partnership with the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero on Monday July 6 2026.
The events are part of the rollout of the first UK-wide climate and nature Public Participation Strategy published earlier this year
Community leaders, civil society and those working on climate, nature and energy are invited to a free, in-person day designed to build connections, momentum, knowledge and inspire more communities to act on climate change and nature loss.
The South West event at the M Shed in Bristol will feature:
- Electric ferry trips to Capricorn Quay Floating Ecosystem and England’s largest harbour-based water source heat pump
- Panellists including Peter Capener (Community Energy England), Hannah Spungin (Bristol City Leap) Matt Golding (Antidote)
- “Making life better today and tomorrow” session from Bristol Climate and Nature Partnership
- Insight into the Creative Power Pilot – providing clean mobile power to festivals/ film/tv shoots in the South West
- Lightening talks from communities improving lives through climate action
- Workshop session from public engagement experts Climate Outreach and Young Foundation
The events are intended to:
- Build momentum and confidence among those working locally on climate and clean energy projects
