The national Green Homes Grant Local Authority Delivery Scheme 2 programme (LAD 2) completed delivery on 30 September 2022.
The Hub delivered over £50 million of funding in the region as part of a Covid 19 green stimulus package, with the aim of saving householders money on fuel bills, reducing carbon emissions and creating green jobs.
This funding was part of £300 million allocated to the five regional net zero hubs in England by the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero.
How the funding was used
The Hub appointed three delivery organisations across the region to improve the energy efficiency of homes of low-income households
The funding was used to provide 604 households, identified as suffering from fuel poverty, with 7079 new energy efficient measures such as insulation, double glazing, heat pumps and solar panels to make their homes warmer, greener and more energy efficient.
These measures will contribute towards reducing household energy bills, as well as supporting the phase out of fossil fuel heating and the UK’s commitment to net zero by 2050.
